Description

Culvita Sowing and Cutting Soil is formulated for optimal results in sowing and cuttings. In the composition of this mixture, the many years of experience of leading nurseries have been used.

What is it suitable for:
Sowing and cuttings.

What not suitable for:
This product has no restrictions.

Features:
A low percentage of fertilizers has been added to this sowing and cutting soil to prevent burning. However, there are enough fertilizers present to provide the rooted cutting or sprouted plant with nutrients during the first growth phase (until repotting).
Culvita Sowing and Cutting Soil has a fine and regular structure. This distributes water evenly and prevents dehydration.

Packaging: 20 liter

Instructions for use for cuttings:

  • Take cuttings of healthy plants. To do this, use a sharp knife. Strip the part that gets into the ground of leaves (this is about 1/3 of the total cutting length).
  • Fill a container or pot with Culvita Sowing and Cutting Soil.
  • It is recommended to use cutting powder (Rhizopon). The use of cutting powder increases the chance of a good rooting result. Also read the instructions on the packaging of the cutting powder. For more information , www.rhizopon.com
  • Make leg holes of 2 to 3 cm deep. Insert the cutting into the leg hole. Make sure that, when cutting powder is used, the powder is not pushed off the cutting.
  • After stinging, lightly press the cutting soil and spray moist. To do this, use a plant sprayer.
  • Cover the cuttings with a clear plastic to prevent dehydration. You can also use a mini-hobby greenhouse. Check regularly whether the cutting soil is still moist (not too wet).
  • Give the cuttings a light place e.g. in front of a north-facing window. Avoid direct sunlight.

After a few weeks, depending on which plant, roots will form. When repotting, use Culvita Potting Soil Special. This potting soil is provided with a controlled release fertilizer so that no additional fertilizer needs to be applied for 6 months.

Instructions for use when sowing:
Small seeds are generally sown at less than 2 cm. The larger seeds, such as peas and beans, are a bit deeper. Broad beans up to 4 cm. A guideline is to cover the seed with 3 times as much sowing soil as the diameter of the seed.
With very small seed, this can be mixed with some fine dry sand. When transplanting, select the best plants and check for infestations.
In general, follow the instructions for use as shown on the seed packaging.

  • Fill a container or pot with Culvita Sowing and Cutting Soil.
  • Before sowing, smooth the soil evenly.
  • Spread the seed evenly.
  • When repotting, use Culvita Potting Soil Special. This potting soil is provided with a controlled release fertilizer so that no additional fertilizer needs to be applied for 6 months.
