Description

Ferrarium Kieserite

Kieserite is indispensable for getting – and keeping – a deep green garden. Kieserite actually prevents browning of needles of conifers, pines and shrubs. Green plants in the border also benefit optimally from fertilization with kieserite.

What is kieserite?

Kieserite is a natural source of magnesium and sulfur. These nutrients give the lawn, ornamental plants and hedges in the garden a healthy, deep green appearance. Magnesium and sulfur are water-soluble so they can be absorbed directly by the (grass) plant. This ensures that your limp, lifeless plants will be strong and vital again within a few weeks. Kieserite can be applied at any time.

Why use kieserite?

Kieserite provides optimum magnesium for plants. Magnesium is important for photosynthesis. For crops prone to magnesium deficiencies such as lawns, conifers and leafy shrubs, kieserite is the perfect magnesium source that provides a deep green color. Could your lawn use a boost? Or are the shrubs/conifers in the border a bit yellow? Most likely, this is a lack of magnesium. Using kieserite is then the undisputed solution! Finally, magnesium deficiency can be recognized by the yellow/brown discoloration of leaves and/or needles. Kieserite works independently of acidity and can therefore be sprinkled on all substrates. Kieserite has a rapid action and it is widely applicable. Kieserite is also applicable in the vegetable garden. Mainly leafy vegetables such as lettuce, parsley and celery could use some extra magnesium and sulfur.

How should you scatter kieserite?

Kieserite can be sprinkled in several ways. The most common and also easiest way to spread kieserite is directly from the hand or using a spreader. Sprinkle the kieserite granules evenly over the surface to be worked on. In dry weather, we recommend watering after fertilizing so that the fertilizer pellets are absorbed even faster into the soil.

How much kieserite do I need?

Typically, you need about 3 kilograms of kieserite to work an area of 100 square meters. The lawn and ornamental plants have plenty of this. Shrubs and hedges are an exception; these plants can use some extra magnesium. When fertilizing shrubs and hedges, use about 4 kilograms per 100 square meters.

When to scatter kieserite?

Basically, you can sprinkle kieserite all year round. But, to ensure effective fertilization, we recommend spreading this fertilizer during certain seasons of the year. When best to do this depends entirely on which plant or crop you want to fertilize. Let’s start with the lawn. The lawn can use fertilization with kieserite twice a year. The first fertilization should ideally take place in early spring, during the month of March. During September, the second fertilization can take place. When you structurally sprinkle kieserite over the lawn annually, you ensure beautiful leaf color and an overall healthier lawn.

Ornamental plants in the border and (boxwood) hedges usually need only one fertilization per year. Spread kieserite granules starting in March for best spreading results.
