Organic grow bags against thrips
Do you often suffer from thrips on your plants? Especially houseplants but also vegetable plants and grapes can be plagued by thrips. Are you tired of always being behind the curve? Then opt to work preventively with grow bags against thrips.
What’s in the grow bags?
The breeding bags contain Neoseiulus cucumeris predatory mites in various stages, but also flour mites and a carrier of bran. The flour mites feed on the bran and in turn are food for the predatory mites.
Neoseiulus (=Amblyseius) cucumeris is a beige predatory mite of about 3 mm in size in adult stage. The predatory mites quickly distribute themselves among the plants. They prick their prey and suck it out. An adult Neoseiulus cucumeris lives about 3 weeks.
This predatory mite eats eggs and young larvae from thrips but not adult thrips. Predatory mites will sprout from the breeding bags for 5 to 6 weeks, so that the first thrips infestation is immediately suppressed.

How to use grow bags against thrips?
Attention: The predatory mites leave the breeding bags through the pre-punctured openings in the bag. Do NOT enlarge the perforated hole in the grow bag because then the culture will dry out. Do not moisten the grow bags unnecessarily.
After 5 to 6 weeks, the grow bags must be replaced if you want to maintain the protection against thrips. If you systematically put out propagation bags against thrips in the (indoor) plants, the thrips do not get a chance to develop.
Can I store grow bags against thrips?
Since the breeding bags have a pre-punctured hole, the predatory mites can sprout when they are ready. The grow bags will therefore run out in the box if you do not hang them in the plants in time.
Please note that you cannot return this product. This is because it is a “live” product, which therefore has a very limited shelf life. Therefore, buy the product only when you really need it, and then use it within two weeks of purchase.
